If you are thinking about taking the leap to 1/5 scale gas R/C, the latest in a series of videos by Redcat Racing introduces you to some of the basics of large scale.  I'll post more of this series as they become available.

This video also shows just how large a Dune Runner 1/5 scale is when compared to a 1/10 Nitro Volcano trucks.

Horizon Hobby posted this YouTube video on how to start and break-in their Losi 5ive-T but the info on this video also applies to your Redcat Rampage.

I just stumbled across these YouTube videos by poopdogsays on "Large Scale RC Carb Tuning"  These are among the best videos I've found on tuning a Redcat Rampage or any other large scale RC...thanks to poopdogsays for creating these great videos.

I've had a few people ask me how to install the 710006 Aluminum Rear Hubs on their Rampage X series.  These aluminum rear hubs only have one upper "tab" instead of the two tabs that the stock plastic ones have so some guys have wondered if this is a mistake.  My guess is that the factory decided that one upper mounting point is sufficient for the aluminum part and to this point, I haven't heard of anyone having any problems with them.

Hope it helps.

Special thanks goes out to Mark Bigelow for providing the picture...

Wondering how to correctly calculate a 25:1 fuel oil mixture for your Rampage?  Check out these Apps I just found on the iTunes App Store (damn, why didn't I think of creating these apps!)

Pre-Mix Gas Oil Ratio App.  Cost $0.99 at the App Store

Gas Oil Mixture Ratio.  Cost $0.99 at the App Store

Premix Calculator  FREE at the App Store

If you are not an iPhone / Mac person, you can also check out this free calculator for your computer.

If you are filling a 5 US Gallon gas can with fuel, you can simply add 25.6 ounces or 3 1/4 cups of oil to the can to get a 25:1 mix ratio...don't use your wife's fancy measuring cups from the kitchen though!

If you have any tips or advice on mixing fuel for the Redcat Rampage or other 1/5 scale RC's, please leave a comment below and let everyone know about it.

Hope it helps.

Hey guys I've been wanting to create a video series on starting and tuning your Redcat Rampage but haven't had the time so thought I'd post these videos for you.  The first one is from HPI, the 2nd is FG.  I think they are both quite good.

If you know of other good tuning, starting etc. vids, feel free to email me the link and I'll post them here as well.

Redcat recently made a change to the diameter on the X Series Rampage (XB, XBE, XT, XSC) axles and I've been getting a lot of emails asking for more info.

Hopefully this helps clarify the change for you.

Hey guys.  I've been getting a lot of tech questions lately from guys about their Rampage.  I'm here to help and really like answering your questions but just want to remind everyone that we have a great forum with guys from all over the world that have tonnes of experience with 1/5 scale and can likely answer your questions faster and better than I can.

Check out the forum if you haven't already done so....be sure to mention that Rob at RampageShop.com sent you : )

Just a quick video on how to remove the stock air filter from any of the Rampage models

redcat rampage servo
I received the following question from John today (thanks John)
"I'm waiting for my XBE to come and I see some people have problems with the steering servo, what can be done if this happens on a new unit(warranty)? Thanks for your time in advance"

Here was my response to John:
"Redcat does have a really good warranty program and I'm sure they'll take care of you if your servo does pack it in.  Here's a link to some more info on their warranty: http://www.rampageshop.com/warranty-information.html

Honestly though, I wouldn't waste my time replacing the servo with another stock unit, even if they do give you one for free (assuming yours does die).  Save yourself the hassle and grab an Hitec 805bb or 5755.  I run the 5755 myself and it's great.
Scroll to the bottom of this page for a 5755: http://www.rampageshop.com/redcat-rampage-parts-electronics--accessories.html

FYI, John did not order his XBE from me but that's okay, I'm here to help if I can.

What do you guys think?  Did I give John the correct advice?
