Here's the most recent picture of the soon to be released addition to the Rampage line-up.  It''s a 1/5 scale desert buggy / sand rail.  This picture is of a prototype model but according to the owner of Redcat Racing, it is almost identical to the production model.  The production buggy will have a painted body however.
From what I can see in the picture, the new Rampage appears to be an XSC short course truck chassis with a new body / roll cage.  I see XSC wheels and tires (with 10mm hex nuts) and XSC front bumper.  The shocks, and suspension mounts look like standard issue X series components as well.

I wonder if Redcat took this opportunity to increase the size of bearings in the hubs and gear plate.  I guess only time will tell.

What do you think of the new Rampage?  Leave a comment below and let us know your thoughts.

There has been some rumors and speculation around the web in recent months about a new 1/5 scale desert buggy being released.  I posted a picture a couple of weeks back of a buggy I found online that I was hoping would be from Redcat.  Check it out below:
I also found a post over at LargeScaleNews.com that showed some teaser images of a soon to be released 5th Scale buggy that looks a lot like the photo I found earlier.  Have a look at the wheels and tires, front bumper, and the spare tire carrier above the rear shock tower...looks very similar to me.
Last but not least, in an interview on The Drivers Stand R/C podcast, Dan from Redcat confirmed that they do in fact have a new 1/5 Scale Desert Buggy coming out this summer - perhaps as soon as June!

If you have any further information about this new buggy, leave a comment and let us know what you've found.  In the meantime, I'm saving some money to pick myself up a gas version and brushless to replace my XBE!

I'll keep you posted as I learn more.

I was trolling the net and stumbled across this picture of a 1/5 Scale Desert Buggy / Sand Rail.  It looks like a cross between a Rampage XB and a Mirage 1/8 Desert Buggy.  I don't know anything about this buggy at the moment but I sure hope it finds it's way into Redcat Racing's product line!

Greg Whyte shot this video of his super clean Rampage MT and Rampage XT trucks.  This vid shows just how large the MT is.
