Check out these CAD drawings of the new Rampage XR 1/5 Gas Rally Car and the Rampage XR EP PRO Brushless Electric Rally Car. As you can see, they share most of their components with the popular Chimera and add rally style front and rear bumpers, front, rear and side body mounts and the XR even has a custom exhaust with trick looking dual tips
Arjay emailed me a few days ago wondering if he could mount DuneRunner / TT wheels on his Rampage XT.
I've always been a fan of these wheels since I go my first Rampage TT back in 2008 so thought it'd look cool if a slapped a set on my Chimera EP Pro.
As you can see from the pictures, these wheels do fit on the Chimera but the wheel nuts will only thread about half way on so you'll want to use some threadloc to make sure they do not fall off
For the XT and XB, you have to swap out your front and rear axles as well as the hubs to the Chimera units, then you'll be able to install the wheels. Here's a quick parts list:
1 x 07427 Wheel Mount Set (4)
1 x 07409 Rear Axles (2)
1 x 07428 Universal Drive Joint (2)
Redcat Racing just released this video of the new Rampage XR Rally that is scheduled to be release this summer. Information on the new rally car is still limited but my understanding is it will be mainly based on the X series platform.
I'll be posting more information on the right here on the blog and on the Rampage XR page as it becomes available
Isaac just sent me a few more nice pics of his DuneRunner sporting a chrome JetPro rear mount pipe. Looks great Isaac!
I'm often asked the difference between the Rampage MT and the Rampage XT. I've been wanting to make a video for some time now but Redcat Racing has beat me to it (and done a better job of it than I would have) so I thought I'd share it with you. Skip ahead to the 3:00 minute mark to start seeing 1/5 scale:
Isaac Gonzales from Texas just emailed me these pics of his nicely modified DuneRunner. Isaac has added
Your DuneRunner looks awesome Isaac! Thanks for sharing.
Check out these pictures that Brett emailed me of his Rampage XBE (with a truck conversion) beside his 1/8 Terremoto. The Terremoto is a big truck but looks pretty small next to the Rampage...
Brett's Terremoto is sporting some ProLine Trenchers and Tech 5 wheels
Here's a good view of both trucks. I like the flowing shape of the Terremoto's body
Those Trenchers are almost as tall as the Rampage XT tires
This shot shows how much longer the Rampage is compared to the Terremoto
The Grave Digger is a Traxxas Summit...you can see how similar in size the Terremoto is to the Summit
Check out these pics of Phyllis's Chimera SR featuring a few nice aluminum hop-ups:
This picture shows the aluminum roll cage and aluminum air filter
If you look closely you can see the aluminum front upper suspension arms and aluminum rear lower arms
Check out these pictures of Brett's shiny new XTE! Brett ordered an XBE from me along with all of the parts to convert his buggy into a truck and it looks great!
Brett's XTE sporting a 50912 Rampage MT Body
Brett also added some LED lights. You can see the base of his RC stand in this picture too
Here's a good shot comparing the size of Brett's XTE next to his 1/10 Traxxas Slash
Brett's XTE looks as if it came from the factory like this...nice
Here you can see how Brett added XT wheels, front bumper and body posts to his XBE to get the XTE look
Here's a quick video on how to rebuild your pull starter. This video talks about the HPI Baja pull start but it's identical to the Rampage.
If you just need to tighten the cord, check out the video below:
