Check out these CAD drawings of the new Rampage XR 1/5 Gas Rally Car and the Rampage XR EP PRO Brushless Electric Rally Car. As you can see, they share most of their components with the popular Chimera and add rally style front and rear bumpers, front, rear and side body mounts and the XR even has a custom exhaust with trick looking dual tips
Redcat Racing just released this video of the new Rampage XR Rally that is scheduled to be release this summer. Information on the new rally car is still limited but my understanding is it will be mainly based on the X series platform.
I'll be posting more information on the right here on the blog and on the Rampage XR page as it becomes available
The new "Catbox" exhaust cans are now in stock and shipping. Check them out on the Exhaust Page
I'm not sure if these are made by TGN - the maker of the original X-Can or not but the styling and quality appears to be virtually identical.
The Catbox Exhaust Can improves low end performance over a stock can style muffler through the use of a header style port and by helping to reduce cylinder head heat.
The Catbox Exhaust is CNC machined out of aluminum and includes all mounting hardware and gaskets.
Optional 3" and 6" extensions are also available to help route exhaust away from your vehicle
I knew the Chimera Brushless was in the works but didn't realize it would be ready so soon. A small shipment of these sweet looking sand rails just arrived. Check them out here then leave a comment below and let me know what you think.
A full range of rebuild parts are now available for the HY 30cc engines. Check them out on the Engine & Fuel System Parts page.
A few more Chimera SR sand rails will be arriving any day now. I'm running a promo (while supplies last) for anyone who purchases a Chimera SR in the next couple of days. I'll include approximately $50 in hop-ups. Check out the Chimera SR here
The New Redcat Racing 1/5 Scale Gas Chimera's just arrived and, other than two, the entire first shipment of this vehicle is sold out in pre-orders and 1/3 of the next shipment which will not arrive for 6-8 weeks has been pre-sold as well.

I was trolling the internet this morning and stumbled across these pictures of the upcoming new Rampage 1/5 Desert Buggy / Sand Rail. The buggy has yet to be named but I've dubbed it the Rampage DB (Desert Buggy)
Check out more specs and info on the new 1/5 Sand Rail / Desert Buggy here
I spent some time uploading a bunch of new pictures of parts, hop-ups and bodies to the site recently.
I hope you like them.
Here's the most recent picture of the soon to be released addition to the Rampage line-up. It''s a 1/5 scale desert buggy / sand rail. This picture is of a prototype model but according to the owner of Redcat Racing, it is almost identical to the production model. The production buggy will have a painted body however.
From what I can see in the picture, the new Rampage appears to be an XSC short course truck chassis with a new body / roll cage. I see XSC wheels and tires (with 10mm hex nuts) and XSC front bumper. The shocks, and suspension mounts look like standard issue X series components as well.
I wonder if Redcat took this opportunity to increase the size of bearings in the hubs and gear plate. I guess only time will tell.
What do you think of the new Rampage? Leave a comment below and let us know your thoughts.
There has been some rumors and speculation around the web in recent months about a new 1/5 scale desert buggy being released. I posted a picture a couple of weeks back of a buggy I found online that I was hoping would be from Redcat. Check it out below:
I also found a post over at LargeScaleNews.com that showed some teaser images of a soon to be released 5th Scale buggy that looks a lot like the photo I found earlier. Have a look at the wheels and tires, front bumper, and the spare tire carrier above the rear shock tower...looks very similar to me.
Last but not least, in an interview on The Drivers Stand R/C podcast, Dan from Redcat confirmed that they do in fact have a new 1/5 Scale Desert Buggy coming out this summer - perhaps as soon as June!
If you have any further information about this new buggy, leave a comment and let us know what you've found. In the meantime, I'm saving some money to pick myself up a gas version and brushless to replace my XBE!
I'll keep you posted as I learn more.
I was trolling the net and stumbled across this picture of a 1/5 Scale Desert Buggy / Sand Rail. It looks like a cross between a Rampage XB and a Mirage 1/8 Desert Buggy. I don't know anything about this buggy at the moment but I sure hope it finds it's way into Redcat Racing's product line!
We have just created a new XB package that we are calling the XB "Ultimate". We've combined our experience with our own XB + that of our customers to create an upgrade package that will keep you racing and bashing your XB with less down time.
We've added to the popular and affordable XB the following hop-ups:
Buying a Rampage XB "Ultimate" ? You may also want to add the following:
07159 Wheel Bearings. Although the Ultimate does include aluminum spindles and hubs for improved bearing life, you'll want to keep a spare set of wheel bearings in your field box just in case.
50051 Receiver Battery. The stock receiver battery is good for 1 tank of fuel. We recommend a 2nd receiver pack so you can enjoy multiple runs in a single day.
01005 Receiver Battery Charger. The included charger takes approximately 6-8 hours to charge your receiver pack. This affordable charger will charge your battery in less than 2 hours.
I've added a new feature to the RampageShop.com website that should help you find the Rampage parts your are looking for a little quicker. Simply enter the part number or description in the search box at the top right corner and you should see a list of pages that contain that item.
Of course, the parts category list on the left hand side of the site still work.
Let me know what you think of this improvement by leaving a comment below.
Thanks for your support,

Thanks to everyone for your blog comments and emails. I know some of you didn't like this version of the logo very much but it received a lot of votes and I kinda liked it so I've given the go-ahead to the designer to finish up the logo and here's what we've come up with...now to figure out how to turn it into decals and T-shirts...
