wow. that's an amazing piece of machinery. I could just sit and look at it for hours... in between recharges, of course. =)

I love your truck, xbenoob. bravo.

Thanks GimpWithaYoyo.... It's fun to drive, that's why I have three sets of batteries for it, and a quad battery charger... keeps me running for about an hour to an hour and a half. depends on if I run two sets or three sets.. and how hard I am on the throttle...

Before the Leopard motor, I had a castle 1515 2200kv in it with the stock spur and pinion... It was clocked at 65mph via police radar.. but it ran hot, and killed the motor and a few ESC's.

Haven't checked the speed with the new motor and gears... but it does run a lot cooler and it hasn't killed the ESC yet.

Once the weather clears up, I will take it out and run it with the new camera. That will give me the speed via GPS...

Hey XBENOOB, did you ever get GPS speed reading for the Leopard motor set up?

Also, how has your truck held up after almost a year?

Cheers...

I especially like the King Motors wheels and tires that you picked out. they look so nice.

when I was first deciding to get back into rc cars, I was considering buying a King Motors truck, and then I discovered Redcat. obviously, Redcat has won my heart, but I still really like the design of many of the other manufacturers. (I suppose a shout-out should go to Losi, at this point.)

the info about the reliability of your set-up is really good to know. I'm still waiting for my chance to buy an XB-E and that'll really help me figure out how I should hop it up, and how I shouldn't. much appreciated.

Stock Steering servo quit after 10 min of play... Swapped it out for a HiTec 5755mg

Stock wheels... Tires are ok... Foams are garbage. Foams turned to dust and will unbalance your wheels. I would get baja wheel adapters to allow you more choices on wheels. Either the Ramtech wheel adapters (if you want to make your stance wider) or the 7075RC wheel adapters are good. You may have to file down the 7075RC wheel adapters to make them fit the baja wheels.

I have both wheel adapters, and am currently running the Ramtech ones.

Stock bearing holders (front and rear) will need to be replaced. You will burn through bearings. 7075RC makes great bearing holders for both the front and rear. Also his C-Cups for the front are much better than stock.

Stock motor isn't that bad, but it is kind of hit and miss. Some burn them out quick, others still run them. I killed mine, so I started to find the best motor I could find. I wound up with the Leopard Motor 5692 1340kv with the 8mm shaft.

Stock ESC is great. Burned through a few, but keep going back to the HobbyWing. I have a Mamba Monster, but It went up in smoke before it even got to run. I have a Mamba XL2 that is one of my back-up ESC's if I decide to run 8s in it. 6s is too much for the Mamba Monster (to castles credit, they did replace it and a burned out 1515 2200kv motor for the cost of shipping it back to them).

The plastic lower and upper control arms are ok. the only problem I have had is the shock mount on the lower control arm came off after a wicked bump. You could super glue them on (it worked for me) but I like the aluminum lower arms..

Other than that... The other replacements came about due to nasty endo's and them stupid trees that are super sneaky they jump right out in front of you...

I also forgot to mention, that I also have the Aluminum Shock Towers and the Aluminum servo saver.

I like it! Very nice job. What is the tire height on sweet tire/wheel combo.

They are 6 3/4 inches tall
The rears are 3 1/4 inches wide and the fronts are 2 1/2 inches wide

They are king motor wheels/tires
Replica/copy of Hostile All Terrains
You'd need HPI Baja wheel adapters for them to fit
Adapters are available from 7075rc
