I'm not sure why more guys don't run in 2wd Chad, I think it could make for a more fun vehicle once in a while...what do you guys think?
I just received these pics from Chad of his sweet looking Rampage MT. Chad says "I have many mods on my truck and probably the best thing I ever did was take all the front shafts out and make it 2wd, made a HUGE perfermance difference, and still drives, turns, stops, handles perfect. Wondering why more people don't do it..."
I'm not sure why more guys don't run in 2wd Chad, I think it could make for a more fun vehicle once in a while...what do you guys think? I've added a bunch of new studio shots of the Rampage XSC to the Gallery. Check 'em out here if you want to take a closer look under the hood of the 1/5 short course truck.
Hey guys I've been wanting to create a video series on starting and tuning your Redcat Rampage but haven't had the time so thought I'd post these videos for you. The first one is from HPI, the 2nd is FG. I think they are both quite good. If you know of other good tuning, starting etc. vids, feel free to email me the link and I'll post them here as well. Rob Redcat recently made a change to the diameter on the X Series Rampage (XB, XBE, XT, XSC) axles and I've been getting a lot of emails asking for more info.
Hopefully this helps clarify the change for you. I found some more pics online of what could be the new Redcat Rampage XB-E. It appears to be a hybrid of an XB-E and a DuneRunner / MT. At 750mm in length, it's about the same size as an XB-E but I see the more robust suspension from an MT/DuneRunner. Let's hope we see this on Redcat Racing's shelves soon so I can order one and give it a full review. What do you guys think of it? Hey guys. I've been getting a lot of tech questions lately from guys about their Rampage. I'm here to help and really like answering your questions but just want to remind everyone that we have a great forum with guys from all over the world that have tonnes of experience with 1/5 scale and can likely answer your questions faster and better than I can.
Check out the forum if you haven't already done so....be sure to mention that Rob at RampageShop.com sent you : ) Chue just emailed me this picture of his modded Rampage XB. Very nice studio shot Chue...send us some more pics! I think it looks great, what do you guys think? Chue's Rampage XB Picture SlideshowRampage XB Vid from ChueHey guys. You may have noticed that a lot of the Rampage Parts are marketed "Temporarily Out of Stock" Don't worry, I have a big order on the way and it should be here by the end of the month.
I'll post each part one by one on my twitter account as I return the parts to inventory. I'm hoping this will start happening on or around the 28th or so. Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it. Rob Just a quick look under the body of a Rampage XSC (X-SC) with the body off
Mayantribe just sent me this pic of his custom Rampage XB set-up for on road running. Maybe he'll comment and let us know exactly what he's done for mods but I see:
-7075rc HPI Baja wheel adapters -GRP wheels -Hitec Servos -Misc. Alloy Hop-Ups -Zenoah 270 I think it looks pretty sweet, what do you guys think? Hey guys, here's a quick iPhone video so you can see how the XB and DuneRunner compare to each other Just an update on where I'm at with my XB build.
Let me know your thoughts... XBENOOB posted this cool Rampage XBE on-board running video on YouTube. He says he's running a Contour GPS Camera and DashWare software to get the cool speedo overlay. Very cool XBENOOB!
Just a quick video on how to remove the stock air filter from any of the Rampage models
Hey guys. Redcat has just lowered my cost on the XSC so I've dropped my price too...how'd you like a 1/5 scale short course truck for under 500 bucks with free shipping?!
Click here to check it out Lamar just sent me this video of his XB with a JetPro rear mount pipe and MT Gear Plate upgrade. Great video that's definately worth checking out.
Lamar talks about adding the "torque" gear set...I don't recommend those gears unless you are running taller tires such as Baja 5T tires are similar. Thanks for mentioning my website in your video too Lamar, the more we spread the word, the better the site will get for all of us. Lamar also sent me a few pics of his XB that I've added to the Gallery The title says it all...FUN Tag682001 posted this video up on YouTube. Looks to be a couple of stock XB's. Son and Dad having a good time...I love it.
Hi guys.
FYI, I've just partnered with 5thscaleracingforum.com for them to become our official Forum. They are a good group of guys so hopefully you'll all join in the conversation there. We have our own Rampage section on that forum too: http://www.5thscaleracingforum.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?456-Red-Cat-Racing In the coming days you'll see the forum that we've been using on this site shut down and my site will link directly to that forum. Hopefully this change will serve you guys better by having more members, more activity and better forum tools. Please let me know your thoughts Thanks. Rob I just received these pics from Cordy of his XB. Cordy says he used a Nutech Thunderbolt 2 body, it fit`s with a little triming. He used gold metal flake on a yellow base, black lace with flaming orange panels. The grim reaper was put on with lexan picture glue. The n8wd on the nose is his amateur radio call sign.
Please let Cordy know what you think of his custom XB by leaving a Comment If you are looking for a boost in performance for your Rampage and don't want to spend the money on a true tuned pipe, the X-Can from Team GoNads may be exactly what you are looking for. I used to run an X-Can on my Rampage TT and compared to the stock black can, the X-Can had a nice crackle sound and really woke up the performance. At only $65.99 and with virtually no chance of ever damaging it (unlike the stock tuned pipe) I think the X-Can is a great value. Click here to go to the Exhaust Page I received the following question from John today (thanks John) "I'm waiting for my XBE to come and I see some people have problems with the steering servo, what can be done if this happens on a new unit(warranty)? Thanks for your time in advance" Here was my response to John: "Redcat does have a really good warranty program and I'm sure they'll take care of you if your servo does pack it in. Here's a link to some more info on their warranty: http://www.rampageshop.com/warranty-information.html Honestly though, I wouldn't waste my time replacing the servo with another stock unit, even if they do give you one for free (assuming yours does die). Save yourself the hassle and grab an Hitec 805bb or 5755. I run the 5755 myself and it's great. Scroll to the bottom of this page for a 5755: http://www.rampageshop.com/redcat-rampage-parts-electronics--accessories.html FYI, John did not order his XBE from me but that's okay, I'm here to help if I can. What do you guys think? Did I give John the correct advice? For all you guys that don't have a Rampage yet, here's a picture that Lamar just sent me of his brand new XB next to his 1/10 Exceed Driftstar. This picture will give you a good idea of just how big a fifth scale really is.
Thanks for the pics Lamar. Hey guys. I need your help deciding what to do with my Rampage XB. Would you like to see me run it more or less stock (stock motor, stock air filter, stock pipe, stock gears, stock bearings) or should I swap the engine out right away? My dilemma is, if I sell the stock parts when they are brand new, I'll get more for them. Once they are used, they are not worth much.
I already have a killer V2 kill switch, FS-GTV3 radio/receiver, Hitec 5645 throttle servo, Hitec 5755 Steering servo, aluminum MT gear plate, aluminum roll cage, aluminum rear chassis brace. I guess the big question is, should I run the stock HY 30cc engine and a Redcat tuned pipe or sell those and install a Zenoah and a JetPro pipe? XBENOOB just sent me these pics of his sweet XB-E. Check out some of the mods he did below the picture. I'm digging the LED lights and his Contour GPS camera! Redcat XB-E (Converted from a buggy to a truck) with Contour GPS FPV HD camera.
